Rumors of UFC heading to Mexico in 2010 have been circulating for some time, but last night Dana White partly shot down those rumors. He said they are trying to get to Mexico City in 2010, but a rumored April date will not happen. It's simply too early. The rumored visit from the UFC to Mexico in April 2010 appears to be that just that – a rumor. But as UFC president Dana White tells it, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the organization will not go south of the border in 2010; according to White:
“No, (we won’t be in Mexico in April). But we’re trying to get Mexico in this year – do Mexico City.”
White further added that a new target date hasn’t been picked but that April was too soon.
White intimated that multiple trips to Canada may be possible, citing Montreal as a near certainty and also saying that Canadian fans could see a UFC event in their neck of the woods, adding:
